Why won't my Ariens String engine start or why does it run poorly?

Several factors can cause your Ariens Trimmer engine to fail to start or run poorly. It could be due to a disconnected spark plug wire (connect it), the engine not being primed (prime the engine), or an empty fuel tank (add fuel). Other potential causes include a flooded engine (wait several minutes before restarting), a defective spark plug (replace or regap it), stale gasoline (drain and refill with fresh gasoline), a cooling system overloaded with debris (clean the debris screen and cooling fins), a dirty air filter (replace it).
