Why does the high limit switch keep tripping on my Ashley AP5660L?
    • K
      Kyle SimonSep 23, 2025
If the high limit switch keeps tripping on your Ashley Wood stove, it could be due to the convection blower overheating and tripping the internal temperature shutoff. You should clean any dust off of the windings and fan blades. If oiling the blower does not help, the blower may be bad. If operating the heater on the highest heat setting for extended periods, try operating at a lower heat setting. If fuel other than wood pellets is being burned in the stove, stop using them immediately. If there is a power surge or brown out situation, check to see if a surge protector is being used on the stove. If the other items check out OK, the high limit switch may be malfunctioning, and you should replace it.

What to do if Ashley Stove display is flashing 'E1'?
    • S
      Sandra RichardsAug 25, 2025
The “E1” error on your Ashley Stove indicates that the convection blower is overheating. Try cleaning any dust off the blower's windings and fan blade, and consider oiling the blower. Avoid operating the stove on the highest setting for extended periods. Ensure you're only burning wood pellets. A power surge could also trigger this, so use a surge protector. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the high limit switch might be malfunctioning and need replacement.

What does it mean when Ashley Stove display is flashing 'E2'?
    • E
      Emily AdamsAug 26, 2025
If your Ashley Stove display is flashing 'E2', it indicates an airflow issue. Start by unhooking the air hose from the air switch and blowing through it to clear any blockages. Check for blockages in the air inlet, burnpot, combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe. Ensure the firebox is properly sealed and the vent pipe is correctly installed. Also, inspect the airflow switch wire connections. If the combustion blower isn't running, check for power; if there's no power, examine the wire connections or suspect a bad control board. Test the air switch by gently sucking on the air hose to hear a click.

Why is my Ashley Stove display flashing 'E3'?
    • R
      Roger LeeAug 26, 2025
If your Ashley Stove display is flashing “E3”, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the hopper is out of pellets and refill it. If on a low setting, the air dampener might be too far open, so try closing it. Make sure the burnpot holes are not blocked by removing and thoroughly cleaning the burnpot. Also, check for blockages in the air inlet, interior chambers, or exhaust system. Ensure the hopper lid is closed to activate the safety switch and check the switch's wiring. If the auger shaft is jammed, empty the hopper and remove the auger to clear the jam. Test the auger motor to see if it's functioning, and temporarily bypass the Proof of Fire (POF) thermodisc to test its functionality. Finally, check for power going to the POF thermodisc.

What does it mean when my Ashley Stove display is flashing 'E4'?
    • J
      Jack AlexanderAug 27, 2025
If your Ashley Stove display is flashing “E4”, check for blockages in the air inlet, burnpot, combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe. Also, ensure the Proof of Fire (POF) thermodisc wires are properly connected. If the issue persists, the POF thermodisc may be malfunctioning; you can temporarily bypass it to test if it needs replacement.

Why won't my Ashley AP5660L Wood stove ignite even though it's feeding pellets?
    • R
      Robert MarquezSep 15, 2025
If your Ashley Wood stove feeds pellets but will not ignite, the air damper may be too open; push it in closer to the side of the stove for startup. Check for any blockages in the igniter tube or its inlet and ensure they are clear. Make sure the burnpot is pushed completely to the rear of the firebox, with the air intake collar touching the rear wall. A bad igniter element could also be the cause; try putting power directly to it. Finally, the control board might not be sending power to the igniter; check the voltage during startup.

    • M
      Michael DavisSep 12, 2025
Check all wiring connections to the circulation blower. If the connections are correct, apply 120 volts directly to the circulation blower. If the blower still does not run, replace it.

Why is the display flashing 'E1' on my Ashley AP5660L?
    • S
      Samantha CaseySep 12, 2025
If your Ashley Wood stove is flashing “E1”, it could be due to several reasons. The convection blower might be overheating; clean any dust off the windings and fan blade, and consider oiling the blower. If this doesn't resolve the issue, the blower may be faulty. Operating the heater on the highest setting for extended periods can also cause overheating, so try a lower heat setting. Using fuel other than wood pellets can lead to this issue, so check for other fuel types and discontinue their use immediately. A power surge could also be the cause, so ensure a surge protector is in use. Lastly, the high limit switch might be malfunctioning, and if other solutions don't work, consider replacing it.

What to do if my Ashley AP5660L Wood stove heater will not shut off?
    • C
      carrollcraigSep 4, 2025
If you're using a room thermostat, ensure it's set lower than the room temperature. Try disconnecting one of the wires to the exhaust temperature sensor; the heater should shut off, indicating the sensor needs replacement. You can also try to depress the ON/OFF button to 'OFF'.

    Christine GarnerSep 1, 2025
Why does the convection blower shut off and come back on in my Ashley Stove?
    • D
      dwhiteSep 1, 2025
If the convection blower on your Ashley Stove shuts off and comes back on, it might be overheating. Try cleaning any dust off the windings and fan blades. If that doesn't help, the blower itself may be faulty. It could also be a circuit board malfunction. Test the current going to the convection blower; if power is being sent when it's shut off, the control board is fine, but if there's no power, the control board is likely bad.
