  If nothing happens when you turn your Astria Indoor Fireplace ON/OFF, there are several things you can check. First, make sure the wall switch plate is set to REMOTE. You can also try operating the fireplace from the wall plate switch. Replace the remote and/or wall switch batteries. Ensure gas is reaching the fireplace by checking the gas supply and shutoff valves. Check/replace the backup batteries behind the wall plate, or replace the unit battery backup. Finally, check the building circuit breakers to ensure power is ON to the fireplace.

  If the main burner of your Astria Indoor Fireplace comes on but then goes out, first check the gas supply and gas shutoff valves to ensure gas is reaching the fireplace. Inspect the control compartment for any obviously loose wiring to the valve or ignition module, and call a service technician if necessary. It could also be that the pilot flame is not engulfing the sensor or that there is an obstructed vent system, in which case you should call a service technician.

  If the main burner does not light and the igniter is sparking on your Astria Indoor Fireplace, check the gas supply and gas shutoff valves to ensure gas is reaching the fireplace. Inspect the control compartment for any obviously loose wiring to the valve or ignition module, and call a service technician if necessary. If there is air in the gas line, purge it (call a service technician if required). Also, replace the unit battery backup.

Why is there soot on the glass of my Astria Rhapsody 42TEN Indoor Fireplace?

  If soot is present on the glass of your Astria Indoor Fireplace, it could be due to initial fireplace operation. A white film may develop during the first few fires; clean the glass after each use (AFTER THE GLASS HAS COMPLETELY COOLED). It could also be due to an improper vent restrictor setting, so open the air shutter by adjusting the air shutter adjustment lever according to the instructions in this manual, or by pushing in the rod. Finally, ensure the media is properly positioned if there's excessive flame impingement on panels and the fireplace ceiling.
