2-8 Chapter 2: BIOS information
LBA/Large Mode [Auto]
Enables or disables the LBA mode. Setting to [Auto] enables the LBA mode if the device
supports this mode, and if the device was not previously formatted with LBA mode disabled.
Conguration options: [Disabled] [Auto]
Block (Multi-sector Transfer) M [Auto]
Enables or disables data multi-sectors transfers. When set to [Auto], the data transfer from
and to the device occurs multiple sectors at a time if the device supports multi-sector transfer
feature. When set to [Disabled], the data transfer from and to the device occurs one sector
at a time. Conguration options: [Disabled] [Auto]
PIO Mode [Auto]
Selects the PIO mode. Conguration options: [Auto] [0] [1] [2] [3] [4]
DMA Mode [Auto]
Selects the DMA mode. Conguration options: [Auto]
SMART Monitoring [Auto]
Sets the Smart Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology.
Conguration options: [Auto] [Disabled] [Enabled]
32Bit Data Transfer [Enabled]
Enables or disables 32-bit data transfer. Conguration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]
2.3.4 IDE Conguration
The items in this menu allow you to set or change the congurations for the IDE devices
installed in the system. Select an item then press <Enter> if you want to congure the item.
ATA/IDE Conguration [Enhanced]
Allows you to set the ATA/IDE conguration. Conguration options: [Disabled] [Compatible]
[Enhanced]
[Disabled] - Disables the integrated SATA and PATA controller.
[Compatible] - Sets all SATA devices to operate in PATA mode. This allows a maximum
of four (4) ATA devices to be used simultaneously: two PATA devices and two SATA
devices.
[Enhanced] - Sets all SATA devices to operate in SATA mode.
Enhanced Mode Support On [S-ATA]
Set Serial ATA, Parallel ATA or both as native mode. [S-ATA] [S-ATA+P-ATA] [P-ATA].
IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35]
Selects the time out value for detecting ATA/ATAPI devices.
Conguration options: [0] [5] [10] [15] [20] [25] [30] [35]
