What to do if mouse and/or keyboard not responding on ATEN Switch?

      Jillian RussoAug 17, 2025
If your mouse and/or keyboard are not responding, it might be due to an improper reset or the KVM switch needing a reset. First, try unplugging the cable(s) from the console port(s) and then plugging them back in. If that doesn't work, power off all devices, then power off the ATEN Switch, wait five seconds, and then power everything back on.

Why is my device not recognized (Windows) on ATEN Switch?
    • D
      daniel00Aug 28, 2025
If Windows isn't recognizing your device, it could be a timing problem. Unplug the KVM cable from the computer’s USB port, go into Windows’ System Settings and remove the Unknown Device entry, and then plug the KVM cable back in. Windows should now recognize the device.

How to invoke HSM if I cannot invoke HSM using [Num Lock][-] on ATEN CS62US?
    • M
      michaelmoranSep 3, 2025
If you cannot invoke HSM using [Num Lock][-], it may be due to incorrect operation or keyboard incompatibility. To invoke HSM, hold the [Num Lock] key, press and release the [Minus] key, then release the [Num Lock] key. The [Caps Lock] and [Scroll Lock] LEDS will flash together to indicate that the unit is in HSM. If this doesn't work, switch to the alternate HSM invocation keys by using hotkey [H].
