1 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This manual provides operational procedures and maintenance information for the ATG Model 429EBP -
ARINC 429 Transmitter/Receiver.
1.2 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
The ATG 429EBP Transmitter/Receiver provides avionics technicians and line maintenance personnel
with an easy method for troubleshooting ARINC 429 avionics systems. The 429EBP has unique label
definitions designed to facilitate the testing of Boeing aircraft avionics. The 429EBP can transmit up to 10
independent ARINC 429 labels simultaneously and can receive and store up to 4096 words (8192 words
without label or rate information in the DATA ONLY TRAP mode). A special `Trigger Trap' feature allows
selective trapping of block data protocols and alpha-numeric messages. The unit has a non-volatile
memory and automatic scrolling to enable the user to store and review the trapped labels at his or her
discretion. The user may also print the trapped words on a printer through the simplified handshake
Centronics parallel printer port. Internal batteries are provided for portable operation of the 429EBP and
the unit is housed in a rugged, compact case. Selection of the data, transmitted or received, can be in
either hexadecimal or engineering formats. A more detailed description of the unit’s capability can be
found in Section 3 of this manual.
