5. Maintenance
5.1 Preventive maintenance schedule
Warning
Before carrying out any maintenance, repair work or adjustments, proceed as
follows:
Stop the vacuum pump.
Switch off the voltage.
Effectively isolate the machine from all sources of under- and/or overpressure
and make sure that the pump system is at atmospheric pressure level.

The operator must apply all relevant safety precautions. See section Safety
precautions during maintenance or repair
Warranty - Product Liability
Use only authorised parts. Any damage or malfunction caused by the use of unauthorised parts is not
covered by Warranty or Product Liability.
Service kits
For overhauling or carrying out preventive maintenance, service kits are available (see section Service
kits).
Service contracts
Atlas Copco offers several types of service contracts, relieving you of all preventive maintenance work.
Consult your Atlas Copco Customer Centre.
General
When servicing, replace all removed O-rings and washers.
Intervals
The local Atlas Copco Customer Centre may overrule the maintenance schedule, especially the service
intervals, depending on the environmental and working conditions of the vacuum pump.
The longer interval checks must also include the shorter interval checks.
Preventive maintenance schedule
Check oil level & condition.(See note below)
Clean dirt trap at pump inlet
Clean anti suck back valve at pump inlet.
Change oil*, oil filter (if installed) & exhaust filter
Clean the pump, the radiator and the motor fan guard
Check the vanes. Replace them, if needed
Check belt condition (GVS 470– 630A)
