LSV 27 S060/S040 ENGLISH Instructions
! WARNING
Make sure you are familiar with the operating instructions before
you use this machine.
This machine, its attachments and accessories must only be used
for the purpose for which they were designed:
This machine is intended for sanding and polishing (not for grinding).
Never use grinding wheels as this machine is not fitted with a wheel
guard.
For product liability and safety reasons any modification to the
machine, its attachments or accessories must be agreed in advance
with an authorized technical representative of the manufacturer.
To prevent personal injury and long time risks:
Familiarize yourself with the enclosed leaflet General Safety
Instructions for Sanders
Before making any adjustments to the machine, e.g. changing
an accessory, please ensurethat the air supplyis disconnected.
Check the free speed of the machine at regular intervals and
whenever the machine has been serviced. This check should be
carried out with the grinding equipment detached.
The maximum permissible speed as marked on the machine
must not be exceeded.
The sanding equipment must be approved for the rated speed of
the machine.
Air quality
For optimum performance and maximum machine life we recommend
use of compressed air with a dew-point between +2
o
C and +10
o
C.
Installation of an AtlasCopco refrigeration-type air dryer is recommended.
Air quality according to ISO/DIS 8573-1, quality class 2.4.3.to 3.5.4.is
recommended.
Use a separate air filter of type Atlas Copco FIL installed as close as
possible to the machine.
Blow out the hose before connecting.
The compressed air must contain a small quantity of oil (60 90 mg/m
3
).
Use an air tool oil of good quality. We strongly recommend that you install
an Atlas Copco oil-fog lubricator DIM, provided that this can be sited on a
the same level or higher than the worksite and that the hose length does
not exceed approx. 7 m. Otherwise the motor is lubricated with oil which
is dripped either into the air hose or directly through the connection for
the hose nipple.
Compressed air connection
The machine is designed for a working pressure (e) of 67 bar =
600700 kPa = 87102 psi.
Connect the machine to the air line according to figure page 5.
Blow out the hose before connecting.
Maintenance
Rust protection and internal cleaning
Water in the compressed air, dust and wear particles cause rust and
sticking of vanes, valves etc.
This can be solved by flushing with oil (some drops), running the
machine for 5-10 seconds and absorbing the oil in a cloth. Make it
before longer standstills.
Lubrication
The machine is fitted with a generously dimensioned angle gear
which is lubricated with a semi-fluid grease to ensure good wear
resistance. To avoid overfilling, which could result in a rise in
temperature and damage to seals, there is no lubricating nipple.
Instead, the grease should be changed after about 200 running hours
by removing the angle-gear spindle.
Atlas Copcos original grease 4210 2255 00 is recommended.
Note Do not use ball bearing grease or chassis grease.
The requisite amount of grease is 10 cm
3
.The correct amount of grease
will be obtained if grease gun 4080 0761 00 is used.
The front motor ball bearing should be lubricated with grease in conjuction
with the regular overhaul of the machine.
Use lubricants of good quality. The oils and greases listed in the
lubrication table are examples of lubricants that can be recommended.
Overhaul
For preventive maintenance, the grease in the angle gear should be
changed after roughly 200 hours of operation. See the directions under
the heading Lubrication.
The entire machine should be checked regularly at six-months intervals.
If it is in heavy duty service or not running properly it should be taken out
of service more often for inspection.
The strainer at the air inlet should be cleaned frequently to prevent
clogging and decreased capacity.
Important Be particularly careful with the speed governor. Careless
handling may put it out of order.
Always check the free speed of the machine after service. n
