7. Maintenance and servicing
7.1 Maintenance and servicing
ATTENTION! Before you handle the refrigerant manifold in any way, it is necessary to reliably disconnect it from the
power supply (by the circuit breaker or main switch in the electrical switchboard of the building) and make sure it
cannot be unexpectedly reconnected!
The unit can be commissioned only by a specialist company and an initial inspection report according to CSN 33 2000-6-61
must be issued.
For the entire time the unit is in operation the user has an obligation to perform regular electric inspections at intervals according
to CSN 33 1500.
The obligation to perform inspections is stipulated by Act No. 458/2000 Coll., the so-called Energy Act.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND SAFETY
During any inspection or servicing the refrigerant manifold must be disconnected from the power supply. The connections and
grounding of the electric equipment must comply in particular with CSN 33 2000-4-41, CSN 33 2000-5-54, CSN 33 2180 and
CSN 33 2000-5-51. The work can only be conducted by appropriately qualified persons in accordance with the Decree of the
COSO (Czech Occupational Safety Office) and the CMA (Czech Mining Authority) on Professional Qualifications in Electrical
Engineering No. 50/1978 Coll. and in compliance with CSN EN 50110-1 and 50110-2. During maintenance check the tightness
of the terminals, clean the terminal block from dust and dirt, check whether any components do not have any traces of excessive
heating, water leaks or mechanical or other damage and check the function of the power controller as specified above.
ATTENTION! Removing, bridging or disconnecting the safety devices, safety features and protective devices is prohibited!
The refrigerant manifold can be cleaned using only a dry or slightly wet cloth. Make sure no water gets inside.
Using liquids such as organic solvents which might damage its surface is not allowed.
7.2 Spare parts, repairs
All repairs during and after the warranty period must be conducted by a professional company, not through DIY.
7.3 Safety conditions for refrigerant handling
At atmospheric pressure and a temperature of 25 °C refrigerant R410A used in the unit is a colourless gas smelling of ether.
The most serious adverse effects of a leaked refrigerant on human health:
- The vapours of the refrigerant are heavier than air and may lead to oxygen displacement.
- At atmospheric pressure the refrigerant starts evaporating at -41.8 °C; its fast evaporation can therefore cause frostbites.
- The substance may cause arrhythmia.
Operator duties when a fire or a refrigerant leak are detected:
- Unplug the unit; in the event of a refrigerant leak ventilate the affected area thoroughly, leave the place immediately and
do not come near the unit. Observe the ban on using naked flames! Report the incident immediately to the service
company!
- In the event of a fire any rescue action may only be taken while using personal protective equipment (safety gloves,
protective goggles, a breathing apparatus or a face mask with filter against organic vapours).
