Function Description:
The Aurora AU1225MA is a micro-cut paper shredder designed for personal and office use. Its primary function is to shred paper documents, credit cards, and CDs/DVDs into small, unreadable pieces to protect sensitive information. The shredder features a safety power cut-off mechanism that prevents operation if the wastebasket door is open or the pull-out wastebasket is removed. It also includes LED status indicators for various operational conditions such as "Bin Full," "Door Open," "Overload," "Overheat," and "Power On."

- Product is not intended for use by children.
Maintenance Features:
- Oiling: The shredder blades should be oiled monthly with basic vegetable, cooking oil, or shredder oil. The procedure involves turning off the shredder, applying oil across the paper entry, and running the shredder in reverse mode for 3-5 seconds. Lubricating oil is not included.
- Cleaning:
- Always unplug the shredder before cleaning.
- Clean the unit by wiping it with a dry soft cloth or towel.
- Do not immerse the shredder in water or use flammable materials for cleaning.
- Do not spray or keep aerosol products (including canned air) in or around the shredder.
- Wastebasket: Ensure the wastebasket does not become full to prevent shredded material from being pulled back into the shredder, which can cause jams.
- Paper Clips and Staples: The shredder can shred staples and small paper clips, but it is recommended to remove them whenever possible to extend the shredder's lifespan.
- Avoiding Overfeeding: Shredding beyond the specified sheet capacity can cause extensive damage to the cutting blades and internal components.
- Clearing Jams:
- Use the "Reverse" mode to back up and loosen jammed paper.
- If "Reverse" doesn't work, drizzle shredder oil (or cooking oil) into the feed slot, let it soak for about 30 minutes, then return to "Auto-On" mode.
- An index card or rigid sheet of cardstock can be fed into the shredder to help push through jammed paper.
- If the activation sensor is blocked by paper, use an index card to clear it.
- If the activation sensor is triggered by dust, debris, or oil, clean it with a cotton swab (do not use canned air).
