AIR SERIES Part D: receiving unit L ACRS13-L (RLB)
This document describes the ACRS13-L (RLB) receiving unit, part of the AIR SERIES, designed for radio remote control applications. It details the unit's functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description
The ACRS13-L (RLB) is a receiving unit for radio remote control systems. Its primary function is to receive commands from a transmitting unit and activate corresponding outputs. It incorporates an electronic module with an address key, ensuring secure and dedicated communication. The unit is designed to operate in various configurations, including standalone radio remote control, Take & Release radio remote control, and as part of a Multi Units or Multi Receiver radio remote control system.
The unit features several visual indicators (LEDs) to provide status information:
- POWER LED (green): Indicates the power status of the receiving unit.
- ...is off: The receiving unit is not powered.
- ...is on: The receiving unit is powered.
- ENABLE LED (green): Indicates the status of the radio link.
- ...blinks once every 5 seconds: The receiving and transmitting unit do not communicate.
- ...blinks fast: The unit is ready to receive commands sent by the transmitting unit.
The electronic module contains the address key, which dictates the radio remote control configuration. The receiving unit cannot function without this address key. DIP switches are used to set the frequency band (DIP switch 1) and should always be in the OFF position for DIP switch 2. Internal light signals (LEDs on the mother board) indicate the activation of each relay.
The data sheet provides information regarding the correspondence between the commands sent by the transmitting unit and the related output enabled in the receiving unit.

The technical data sheet contains the wiring diagram showing the connection between the receiving unit and the machine. It also contains the transmitting unit configuration and shows the matching between commands sent and machine functions/movements. Each technical data sheet must be filled in, checked and signed by the installer, who is responsible for a correct wiring. A technical data sheet must always be kept together with this manual (always keep a copy of the technical data sheet when it is used for administrative purposes).
WARNING: The wiring of the receiving unit output units must always reflect the wiring indicated in the technical data sheet.

Maintenance Features
Maintenance of the ACRS13-L (RLB) unit primarily involves troubleshooting common malfunctions and ensuring proper power supply and communication.
Malfunction signalled by the receiving unit:
- The POWER LED is off.
- Possible reason: Wrong or no power supply.
- Solutions: Correctly plug in the connecting plug between the radio remote control and the machine. Make sure that power supply wires are correctly connected and that the power supply value is within the limits specified in the technical data. Check the power supply protection fuse and, if needed, replace it.
- The POWER LED is steady and the ENABLE LED blinks once every 5 seconds.
- Possible reason: The transmitting and receiving unit do not communicate.
- Solutions: Start up the radio remote control.
- The POWER LED is steady and the ENABLE LED blinks fast.
- Possible reason: The receiving unit does not activate the outputs of the commands sent.
- Solutions: Check that the outputs are correctly wired and that the commands sent activate the corresponding relays. Check the protection fuses of the STOP contacts or of the SAFETY contacts and, if needed, replace them.
Use the light signals on the receiving unit to identify radio remote control malfunctions. If the problem persists after the suggested solution has been carried out, contact the support service of the machine manufacturer.
