Why Avalon Stove does not burn hot enough?
    • A
      Allen RiveraSep 10, 2025
There are several reasons why your Avalon stove might not be burning hot enough. * The wood may be wet. Refer to the "Selecting Wood" section on page 29 for more information. * Insufficient draft can be a factor. Chimney height and outside conditions can negatively affect the draft, causing the fire to burn slowly. Adding more pipe or a draft-inducing cap might help. * The air control might not be fully open. Ensure the air control is all the way in and slide it back and forth to make sure it is not stuck.

      Jason WilsonAug 23, 2025
If your Avalon Stove isn't burning hot enough, several factors could be at play. First, ensure your wood is dry; refer to the "Selecting Wood" section on page 27 for guidance. Insufficient draft can also cause this issue; adding more pipe or a draft-inducing cap might help. Lastly, verify that the air control is fully open and not stuck by sliding it back and forth.

What to do if smoke enters the room while reloading my Avalon Rainier 990 Stove?
    • J
      Joseph FlemingAug 25, 2025
If smoke enters the room while reloading your Avalon Stove, allow the air to stabilize before fully opening the door. Push the air control in before opening the door, then open the door about an inch to let air into the firebox for a few seconds. Once the smoke consistently flows up the chimney, fully open the door. Insufficient draft may also be the cause, so adding more pipe or a draft-inducing cap might help.

    • C
      Cindy ClarkAug 27, 2025
If smoke enters the room during the start-up of your Avalon Stove, it could be due to a cold air blockage. Try burning a piece of newspaper to establish a draft. Also, ensure the air control is fully open (all the way in). If more air is needed, slightly crack the door open.

Why doesn't my Avalon Rainier 990 Stove burn long enough?
    • G
      Glenn RayAug 28, 2025
If your Avalon Stove isn't burning long enough, ensure the doors are sealing properly to prevent air from entering the firebox; see the "Door and Glass Inspection" section on page 30 for details. Also, check the ash bed for coals, which may be glowing under a layer of flyash. Raking these coals into a pile can help restart the stove quickly.

Why doesn't the blower run on my Avalon Rainier 990 Stove?
    • J
      Jim BruceSep 18, 2025
If the blower on your Avalon Stove isn't running, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the stove might not be hot enough yet; the blower typically activates after 15 to 30 minutes of operation. Another cause could be an interruption in the electricity supply to the blower. Check your household breaker or fuse to ensure it's working correctly.
