Always use good protective gloves when handling the blades. Ensure that the mower is
properly supported during inspection and when replacing the blades.
7.3.1 Fastening of the blades
The blades are connected with a a central bolt and two shear bolts. To protect the blades and the bearings of
the mower, the shear bolts break or bend if the blades hit a rock other heavy obstacle.
The shear bolts and the timing of the blades must be checked after the blades collide heavily with an obstacle.
The shear bolts must be replaced with new ones when they show signs of deformation.
1. Two shear shear bolts, regular grade
8.8 M6x25 screws, secured with nyloc
locking nuts.
2. Centre bolt with locking washer. When
fitting the blades back to the mower, a
lock washer must be fitted under each
bolt.
If the blades have large notches or cracks or have worn down excessively, they must be
replaced. Always use good protective gloves when handling the blades.
The fastening bolts and nuts should be replaced with new ones when replacing blades.
Check that all blades are connected securely and that none of the blades is missing.
Loose, damaged, or missing blades can cause ejection of parts from the mower. Only
use locking nuts for fastening if the blades.
