2.4.1 First Installation Steps in Windows 98
Windows 98 provides a Wizard for the ISDN configuration. This
Wizard can configure only a previously installed NDIS WAN CAPI
Driver (one of the AVM system drivers). This Wizard can
notnot
notnot
not be
used to install ISDN hardware and software correctly or to
configure an ISDN connection.
Once the ISDN-Controller has been physically installed in your
computer, turn your computer back on. The Windows 98 Plug &
Play recognizes the ISDN-Controller automatically. The Hard-
ware Wizard is started.
Insert the FRITZ!Card CD and follow the instructions on the screen.
Note the following:
• When asked: “How would you like to proceed?”, select the
option “Search for the best driver for your device (recom-
mended).”
• When the location of the driver is requested, activate the
option “CD-ROM drive”. If you also selected “Specify a
location”, make sure that the correct path is entered in the
field below, e.g.
<CD-ROM drive>:\WIN98\
