2.5 Further Installation Steps in Windows 95, 98
and NT
The sequence for installing the other two software components,
FRITZ! and AVM ISDN CAPI Port Driver, is identical for all operating
systems. Follow the instructions below:
• Upon completion of the installation of the driver software for
the ISDN-Controller FRITZ!Card PCI, an information window
appears reporting that the FRITZ! communications software
can be installed. Confirm this message by clicking the

• First specify the folder in which the FRITZ! communications
software is to be copied on your computer.
• Next, specify the program folder for FRITZ! in the Start menu.
• In the next step, decide whether a simple installation or an
installation with configuration is to be performed.

installed in the specified folders with default settings. All of
these settings can be changed in the FRITZ! modules after
installation. See the relevant sections in the FRITZ! manual
or the On-line Help for details.

settings can be performed, such as data for operation at a
PBX.
As a final step of the installation program, the AVM ISDN CAPI
Port Driver can be installed. A window with three tabs appears:
• On the “Modems ” page, select the desired CAPI Port modem,
e.g. “AVM ISDN Internet (PPP over ISDN)” for connecting to
Internet providers with Windows Dial-Up Networking. To view
information about the individual modems, click a modem
and then press

• On the “Ports ” page, COM ports may be assigned to the
virtual modems. If no special COM port settings are required
in your system, accept the default settings.
