Whentheswayingobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectwillnottriggeranalarmuntilithas
travelledadistancelargerthanthesetltervalue.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothatthe
recordingalsoincludesthetimetheobjectmovedinthescenebeforetriggeringanalarm.
Toenablethelter:
1.SelecttheSwayingobjectsoption.
2.Clickonthe
icontoshowtheltersizeintheimage.
3.Usethemousetoadjusttheltersize.Startwithasmallsize.Objectsmovingadistanceshorterthanthedistancefrom
thecenterofthecrosstooneofthearrowheadswillbeignored.Theltercanbemovedtothelocationofaswaying
objecttomakeiteasiertoadjustthesize.Notethatthelterwillbeappliedtoallobjectsintheimage,notonlytothe
onesatthelocationwherethelterisplaced.
4.ClickSavetoapplythelter.
5.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.
6.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.
Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringavaluebetween10and50intheeld.Thevaluecorrespondstothedistancefromthe
centerofthecrosstooneofthearrowheads.Thevalue100impliesthatanobjectmusttravelfromitsinitialpointtoonethirdofthe
imagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.Thevalue50implieshalfthatdistance,thatis,theobjectmusttraveladistanceof
onesixthoftheimagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.
Short-LivedObject
Theshort-livedobjectlterisusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmsforobjectsthatonlyappearforashortperiodoftime.Forexamplelight
beamsfromapassingcarandquicklymovingshadows.Usethelterifsuchobjectscausealotoffalsealarms.
Whentheshort-livedobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectwillnottriggeranalarmuntilthe
settimehaspassed.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothattherecordingalsoincludesthe
timetheobjectmovedinthescenebeforetriggeringthealarm.

1.SelecttheShort-livedobjectsoption.
3.Enterthenumberofsecondsintheeld.Thenumberofsecondsistheminimumtimethatmustpassbeforetheobject
triggersanalarm.Startwithasmallnumber.
4.ClickSavetoapplythelter.
5.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesetting.
6.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltertimeinsmallsteps.
SmallObject
Thesmallobjectlterisusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmsforobjectsthataretoosmall.Forexample,ifonlymovingcarsshouldtrigger
alarms,thesmallobjectltercanbeusedtoavoidtriggeringalarmscausedbypeopleandanimals.
Ifusingthesmallobjectlter,takeintoconsiderationthatanobjectfarfromthecameraappearssmallerthananobjectclosetothe
camera.Ifthelterissettoignoreobjectsthesizeofaperson,peoplethatareclosetobecameracanstilltriggeralarmsbecause
theyarelargerthantheltersize.
