prioritizesnetworktrafcandprovidesagreaternetworkreliabilitybycontrollingtheamountofbandwidthanapplicationmayuse.
TheQoSsettingsareconguredunderSystemOptions>Network>QoS.UsingDSCP(DifferentiatedServicesCodepoint)values,the
Axisproductcanmarkthefollowingtypesoftrafc:livevideo,event/alarmtrafcandmanagementtrafc.
SMTP(email)
TosendemailmessagesfromtheAxisproductviaSMTP(SimpleMailTransferProtocol),anSMTPmailservermustbesetup.This
isdoneunderSystemOptions>Network>SMTP(email).
EnterthehostnamesorIPaddressesandportnumbersfortheprimaryandsecondarymailserversintheeldsprovided.AFrom
emailaddressisalsorequired.Ifthemailserverrequiresauthentication,checkUseauthenticationtologintothisserverandenter
thenecessaryinformation.
SNMP
TheSimpleNetworkManagementProtocol(SNMP)allowsremotemanagementofnetworkdevices.AnSNMPcommunityisthe
groupofdevicesandmanagementstationrunningSNMP.Communitynamesareusedtoidentifygroups.
TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtosupportSNMPontheSystemOptions>Network>SNMPpage.
Dependingonthelevelofsecurityrequired,selecttheversiononSNMPtouse.
SNMPv1/v2providesthelowestlevelofsecurity.Thecommunitynamecanbespeciedasapasswordforreadorread/write
accesstoallsupportedSNMPdevices.ThedefaultpasswordfortheReadcommunityispublicandthedefaultpasswordforthe
Writecommunityiswrite.

IfHTTPSisenabled,SNMPv1andSNMPv2cshouldbedisabled.
TrapsforSNMPv1/v2areusedbytheAxisproducttosendmessagestoamanagementsystemonimportanteventsandstatus
changes.CheckEnabletrapsandentertheIPaddresswherethetrapmessageshouldbesentandtheTrapcommunitythat
shouldreceivethemessage.
