Verifythatnoonehastamperedwiththermware
TomakesurethatthedevicehasitsoriginalAxisrmware,ortotakefullcontrolofthedeviceafterasecurityattack:
1.Resettofactorydefaultsettings.SeeResettofactorydefaultsettingsonpage16.
Afterthereset,securebootguaranteesthestateofthedevice.
2.Congureandinstallthedevice.
Securepasswords
Important
Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronglyrecommendthatyou:
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Changethepasswordatarecurringinterval,atleastonceayear.
