2.EntertheIPaddressorhostnameoftheAxisdeviceinthebrowser’saddresseld.
ToaccessthedevicefromaMaccomputer(OSX),gotoSafari,clickonBonjourandselectthedevicefromthedrop-down
list.ToaddBonjourasabrowserbookmark,gotoSafari>Preferences.
IfyoudonotknowtheIPaddress,useAXISIPUtilitytolocatethedeviceonthenetwork.Forinformationabouthow
todiscoverandassignanIPaddress,seethedocumentHowtoassignanIPaddressandaccessyourdeviceonthe
devicepageataxis.com.
3.Enteryourusernameandpassword.Ifthisisthersttimethedeviceisaccessed,therootpasswordmustrstbe
congured,gotoSetasecurepasswordfortherootaccountonpage6.

Important
Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforthedataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyastheymaybe
usedinvarioustypesofinstallations.Toprotectyourdatawerecommendthatyou:
•Changethedefaultpasswordthatcomeswitheachdevice.
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Changethepasswordatarecurringinterval,atleastonceayear.
Setasecurepasswordfortherootaccount

Thedefaultadministratorusernameisroot.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,resetthedevicetofactorydefaultsettings.
