• NotbacktheboattowardpersonsinthewaterbehindtheboattoAVOID PROPELLER INJURY.
• Notallowpeopletobeonorneartheswimplatformorinthewaterneartheswimplatform
whiletheengineisrunningbecauseCARBON MONOXIDEwillexistaroundthebackoftheboat
whentheengineisrunning.Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,whichisadeadly,
odorless,colorlessgas.
• NotoperatetheengineinaconnedspaceorwhiletetheredtoanothervesselasCARBON
MONOXIDEwillbearoundtheboats.
• Notgoundertheboatcoverwiththeenginerunningorshortlyaftertheenginehasbeen
runningbecauseCARBON MONOXIDEmayremainunderthecover.Removecovertoventilate
thearea.
Failure to follow these precautions may result in severe injury or death
to you and/or others.
The operator shall:
• Followsafeoperatingpractices,theRulesoftheRoad,andtheWatersportsResponsibility
Code.
• Notoperateaboatifundertheinuenceofalcoholorotherdrugs.
• Attachtheemergencycutoswitchlanyardtohimselforherselfwhenoperatingtheboat.
• Maintainapropercourseandsafespeedatalltimestoavoidcollisions.
• Maintainalookoutforotherboats,swimmersandobstructionsinthewater.
• Operateslowlyincongestedareassuchasmarinasandmooringareas.
• Keepasafedistancefromotherboats,swimmers,personalwatercraft,docks,andxed
objects.
• Lookbeforeyouturn/maneuvertheboatsoastoavoidpotentialcollisionswithoncomingor
overtakingvessels.
• Beawarethatthisboatisahigh-performanceboatandiscapableofquick,tightturnsand
changesindirection.Familiarizeyourselfwiththehandlingcharacteristicsoftheboat.It
istheoperator’sresponsibilitytooperatetheboatinamannerthatensuresthesafetyof
allpassengers.Abruptmaneuversmayresultintheejectionofunsecured,unseated,or
improperlypositionedpassengers.Verballywarnpassengersbeforemakingquick,tightturns
sotheymayhavetimetograspahandrail,hand-hold,orportionoftheboat.
• Beawarethatyourboatwillhandledierentlydependingonloadingandon-boardweight
distribution.
• Ensurethatallpassengersareproperlyandsecurelyseatedinappropriateseatinglocations
toavoidfallingorfallingoverboard.
• Instructandensurethatpassengersremainproperlyseatedatalltimeswhiletheboatisin
motionaboveidlespeed.
• Notallowpassengerstositonthetransom,seatbacks,enginecoverorsidesoftheboat
whiletheengineisrunningandtheboatisinmotiontoavoidfallingoverboard.
• Notallowpassengerstositinapositionthatobstructstheoperator’sview.
• NEVERleavechildrenunattendedandintheboatwithoutadultsupervision.
• Havechildrenridinginthebowoftheboatbeaccompaniedbyanadultinthebowandensure
thatallremainseatedwhentheboatisinmotion.
• Notletpassengersoccupyseatswhichmaybeinthepathofthetowline.
• Slowdownwhencrossingwavesorwakesinordertominimizetheimpactonpassengers
andtheboat.Crossingwavesorwakesatanangle(suchas45degrees)ratherthan
perpendicularlywillreducetheseverityoftheimpact.Avoidroughwater,largewavesand
largewakesfromotherboatswhenathighspeed.Jumpingwaves/wakesorslammingthe
bowwillcauselargeverticalimpactswhichmaycauseinjurytooccupantsorcauseejections.
• Forsafetowing(waterskiing,tubing,wakeboarding,wakesurng,kneeboarding,etc.)be
experiencedandhaveanobserver[anobserveror“spotter”isrequiredbylawinmoststates].
