To use the Enable Circuit, remove the jumper that is factory installed on CONN1.
Note: 1. For 50V/1000 tach-generator, connect to Terminals B (+) and I2 (-).
Application Note: When the control is stopped using Inhibit, the motor will coast to stop. When the control is
stopped using Enable, the motor will decelerate to stop. The deceleration time can only be made longer than the
normal coasting time of the load.

What to do if Baldor BC142 motor does not run but the pilot light is illuminated?
    • T
      Terry RothAug 13, 2025
If your Baldor DC drive motor isn't running and the pilot light is on, first, try rotating the Main Speed potentiometer clockwise. If that doesn't work, the motor itself might be defective, with worn brushes or other issues, so check the motor and replace it if needed. Also, ensure that the correct Plug-In Horsepower Resistor® is installed. A blown Armature Fuse could also be the cause, so replace it if necessary. Finally, check the CL Trimpot setting and adjust it if it's fully counterclockwise.

Why is my Baldor DC Drives motor showing erratic performance?
    • R
      Roy ShawAug 17, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor is showing erratic performance, begin by removing any overload conditions. Ensure the correct Plug-In Horsepower Resistor® is installed. Then, readjust the CL and/or IR Trimpots. If problems persist, the speed control module may be defective and require replacement. Also, verify that the Voltage Select Switch is correctly set for your line voltage. Finally, inspect the motor for defects or worn brushes; repair or replace the motor as necessary.

How to troubleshoot a Baldor BC142 motor that is not running and the pilot light is not illuminated?
    • G
      George WilliamsonAug 21, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor is not running and the pilot light is not illuminated, first ensure the On/Off AC Line Switch is in the On position. If it is, check for a blown line fuse and replace it if necessary. If the switch itself is defective, it will need to be replaced.

What to do if Baldor DC Drives motor continues to run with Main Speed Potentiometer set fully counterclockwise?
    • K
      Kimberly PottsAug 25, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor continues to run even when the Main Speed Potentiometer is set fully counterclockwise, the MIN speed trimpot might be set higher than 0% of the base speed. Readjust the MIN Trimpot to correct this. Alternatively, the IR Comp trimpot may be set too high, requiring you to readjust the IR Trimpot.

Why does my Baldor BC142 motor hum, run at very low speed, or slow down substantially when loaded?
    • A
      Amber KellerAug 28, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor is humming, running at a very low speed, or slowing down substantially when loaded, the cause might be low AC line input voltage. Check the AC line input voltage to ensure it is within the correct range.

Why is my Baldor DC Drives motor running in the wrong direction?
    • M
      michellebakerSep 1, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor runs in the wrong direction, it's likely that the motor armature leads are reversed. To fix this, reconnect the motor armature leads correctly.

What to do if Baldor BC142 motor will not run in Forward or Reverse direction?
    • L
      Linda ShieldsSep 4, 2025
If your Baldor DC Drives motor will not run in either the Forward or Reverse direction, begin by checking for faulty wiring or loose connections to the reversing switch and correct them. If the issue persists, the Forward-Brake-Reverse Switch itself may be defective and need replacement.

Why is there no braking action in brake mode on my Baldor DC Drives?
    • E
      Edward PetersSep 8, 2025
