The current height is shown in the middle row of the display while
the upper row displays the height difference in the previous minute
(in m/ft ft = foot). The current display row indicates the current
time. The displayed altitude reading switches to "- - -" when the
measured altitude lies outside the range -500 m and 9,000 m.
If you press the S3 button and do not access altimeter mode, press
the S4 button followed by the S3 button again.
7.1 Altitude measurement
The altitude measurement is based on the atmospheric pressure.
The current altitude is calculated from the difference between the
current atmospheric pressure and the entry for the atmospheric
pressure at sea level.
An altitude calculation is carried out every five seconds within the
first five minutes, afterwards only once per minute.
