! you approach the kerb perpendicularly, so that the wheels of your
chair go up or down at the same time. Approaching a kerb in any
other way significantly increases the risk of overturning,
! avoid strong impacts when coming down from or going up onto a
kerb. A strong impact may have a negative impact on your BATEC
and your chair.
! the BATEC and your chair must go down gently from the kerb, with
all the wheels rolling.
! never try to go up or go down kerbs higher than 10 cm.
• When moving downhill or uphill, we recommend that:
! wherever possible, you use the help of aother person while moving
up or downhill.
! you keep a straight path
! in the case of a steep ascent, lean forward to load more weight on
the front wheel and improve traction.
! avoid unnecessary turns and never turn sharply, to avoid risk of
overturning,
! avoid stopping: it can cause you to lose control of the BATEC.
! when going down, keep a slow and controlled speed, braking
constantly while avoiding sudden brakes.
! do not use your wheelchair brakes. This can lead to them blocking
and you losing control.
• When covering long distances, we recommend that you keep a spare
battery with you.
• In the case of the BATEC MANUAL and the BATEC HIBRID, do not place
your hands in the area of the chainset. With all moveable parts there is
always a risk of getting your fingers caught.
• Please check that the tread of the tyres is deep enough.
• Get familiar with the braking distances at different speeds.
• Use only BATEC MOBILITY approved accessories.
