If the assistance level is set to 0, (ZERO) then the
motor will not be turned on. Your BATRIBIKE will now
act and feel like a normal bicycle. This is useful when
you are feeling fit at the start of a journey or using
your bike for exercise purposes. Power is still only a
button press away.
To activate the throttle, select AUTO mode. The
"AUTO" indicator will be displayed on the LCD panel.
In this mode the throttle on the right handlebar, (thumb
throttle), is now live. In all other assistance levels the
throttle is not functional.
You can still pedal the bike but power will not be applied until the
throttle is activated. To activate, push the thumb lever downwards.
Use the throttle control gently. A small push will apply a small
amount of power. Pushing more will increase the power until the
control is fully rotated at which point full motor power will be
applied.
Throttle assistance can also be used without pedalling.
A handy way to use the throttle is to pull away from junctions, or
when starting on inclines as the rider will pull away easier and is
less likely to wobble. It can also be very useful for pulling out and
overtaking slower cyclists smoothly and quickly.
