3. Look at the series of six holes on the chute side of the unit. Two of these holes have long rods running
through the curved discharge screen to the back of the unit. Remove the cotter pins and slide the rods
out. The curved screen will be replaced by five sets of rods and tubes in the next step.
4. The bottom hole of the series of six holes will not be used. Start with the rod in the top hole. Slip a .
tube onto the rod and push the rod through the hole on the rear side (see figure at right). Lock in place
with a cotter pin. Install the four other rods and tubes in the same manner, leaving the bottom hole
empty.
DANGER
Do not use this Chipper/Shredder with the discharge unprotected. The discharge must
be covered with either the rods and tubes or the standard screen.
