Why does my BCS Tractor engine smoke?

      Lauren SavageAug 13, 2025
If your BCS Tractor engine smokes, it could be due to petrol in the engine oil, potentially caused by leaving the fuel tap on during transportation. In this case, you should change the engine oil. Another cause might be a contaminated air filter, which requires replacing the element.

If there's no drive to the wheels or working implement on your BCS Tractor, the first thing to check is the gearbox oil level. If it's low, top it up with API GL-5 80w/90 oil.

What to do if I am unable to pull engine over on BCS PowerSafe 710 Tractor?
    • D
      Deborah CampbellSep 1, 2025
If you are unable to pull the engine over on your BCS Tractor, it might be because the machine was tipped on its side during cleaning, causing engine oil to fill the cylinder bore and create a hydraulic lock. To resolve this, remove the spark plug and air filter, stand to one side, and pull the engine over to clear out the oil. Then, change the engine oil and air filter, and clean the spark plug.
