6. Accuracy Checking & Adjustment:
The Bear model Polar is a sealed unit and is calibrated to precise accura-
cies at the factory. However, it is recommended that you perform a calibration
check before the initial use of the laser and then from time to time to ensure
that you are doing the highest quality work possible. Always check calibration
if the laser has been handled roughly, dropped or loaned to your best mate.
7.1 Horizontal & Vertical Calibration Check:
If possible drop by your dealer for a CAL check - usually takes around 10 minutes.
(there may be a charge for this service).
OR
7.1.1 Y-axis:
1. Attach the laser to a stable at head tripod or stand at least 15m from a wall or
other stable vertical surface (the target). Use a carpenter’s level to ensure the
tripod head is level enough to allow the laser to be aimed in different directions
with minimal re-leveling. Turn the entire laser so that either direction of the Y-axis
is aimed at the target.
2. Turn the laser on in rotation mode, go to the target and nd the laser beam. Make
a mark at the center of the beam thickness. It is easiest to hold your pencil on the
