4.2.2 Connection of CX2900-0192 Smart Battery
The CX2100-0914 UPS Power Supply Unit stores its charge in a CX2900-0192 Smart Battery. This is to
capable of supporting the CX-system for longer periods in case of a power failure. In addition a further
device, e.g. a control panel, can be supplied with 24 V. The Smart Battery is connected to the power supply
unit by two cables:
1. Power cable (+24 V, 0 V, earth) with a wire cross section of 1,5 mm²
2. Data cable (RJ45 network patch cable CAT5)
Neither cable should be longer than 5 meters. It is thus possible to place the Smart Battery in a suitable
position in the control cabinet.
The plug connectors for the power cabling are supplied as a set with the power supply unit and can be
ordered as a spare part.
A power-fail signal can then additionally be fed out of the plug connector on the power supply unit for
external evaluation.
