4.0 Testing
4.1 Preparations and Safety Measures
Insert battery:
Insert battery, prior to commissioning. Proceed as
follows:
1. Disconnect the instrument from measurement
circuit.
2. Open the casing by pulling the rear casing cover
towards the bottom.
3. Insert new batteries, type 1.5 V IEC LR6 by re-
specting the polarity and close the casing again.
4. Connect test leads in switch position .
The beep must be clearly audible (UNITEST
TESTFIX electronic, additional green lighting of
DOUBLE LED).
5. Connect test leads in switch position .
The lamp must be cleary visible (UNITEST TEST-
FIX electronic, additional green lighting of
DOUBLE LED).
Only use continuity tester, if all display elements
function perfectly.
6. Now you may start testing.
Remark:
If lamp does not work or is missing, no conitnuity
test can be performed!
Ensure that UUT is voltage-free. Verify this con-
dition, if required, by using e.g. UNITEST Digital
Multimeter 93427.
Only use the instruments in dry and clean environ-
ments.
Prior to any usage, verify perfect instrument ope-
ration.
Verify perfect condition of test leads.
4.2 Continuity and Line Testing
Continuity testing has to be carried out when sy-
stem parts are voltage-free. If required, dischar-
ge capacitors. Prior to testing, verify that the cir-
cuit is voltage-free by using an appropriate
measurement instrument, e.g. UNITEST Digital
Multimeter 93427.
