Important Technical Specifications
The manual highlights several critical technical aspects:
- Electrical Requirements: The appliance requires connection to a grounded socket with appropriate fuse capacity. The voltage and frequency shown on the rating plate must match the electricity supply. It's recommended to connect via a suitable switched and fused socket, ensuring the plug is accessible. The moulded plug incorporates a 13 A fuse (BS 1362 approved).
- Refrigerant: The cooling system contains R600a, which is potentially flammable if exposed to fire. Care must be taken not to damage the cooling circuit/pipes during transportation and use.
- Insulation: The insulation uses cyclopentane, also potentially flammable.
- Ambient Temperature: The product is designed to function at ambient temperatures up to 43 °C (90 °F). It can operate even if the ambient temperature falls to -15 °C, though this may cause freezing in the fridge compartment.
- Dimensions/Placement: For optimal air circulation, 2 plastic wedges should be attached to the back to maintain distance from the wall. If placed in a recess, there must be at least 5 cm distance from the ceiling and walls.
Usage Features
The manual details various usage features to ensure efficient and safe operation:
- Temperature Control and Adjustment: The operating temperature is regulated by a knob with settings from 1 (lowest cooling/warmest) to 5 (highest cooling/coldest). The average fridge temperature should be around +5°C. Adjustments can be made based on seasonal temperatures, door opening frequency, and food load. If ambient temperature is above 25°C, set the thermostat to maximum; if below 25°C, set to minimum.
- Defrosting (Fridge Compartment): The fridge compartment defrosts automatically. Defrost water runs to a collection container via a drain tube. Users should ensure no food particles block the drain tube and clear it with the provided plastic plunger if necessary. If frost reaches 7 mm, the setting should be reduced to restart automatic defrosting.
- Defrosting (Freezer Compartment): The freezer compartment is frost-free and does not require manual defrosting.
- Door Reversal: Instructions are provided for reversing the doors, proceeding in numerical order as illustrated.
- Energy Saving Tips:
- Install in a well-ventilated area.
- Minimize the time between buying and placing chilled/frozen food, especially in summer, using a cool bag.
- Do not leave doors open longer than necessary.
- Defrost frozen food in the fridge to assist cooling.
- Load the freezer compartment without using the top shelf lid and drawers (except the bottom one) to achieve maximum loading capacity and energy efficiency.
- Initial Operation: Upon first use, the appliance should be operated empty for the initial six hours, and the door should not be opened frequently.

- Cleaning:

- To remove door racks, push them upwards from the base after removing contents.
- Protection of Plastic Surfaces: Avoid placing liquid oils or oil-cooked meals in unsealed containers as they can damage plastic surfaces. Clean spills immediately with warm water.
- Long-Term Storage: If the refrigerator will not be used for a long time, unplug it, remove all food, clean it, and leave the door ajar.
