Overview

This document is a user manual for a Beko Frost Free Fridge-Freezer, model CFG1571W.

Function Description

The Beko CFG1571W is a combined frost-free fridge and freezer appliance designed for storing edible foodstuffs. It features a separate fridge compartment for short-term storage of fresh food and drinks, and a freezer compartment for freezing and long-term storage of pre-frozen and fresh food. The appliance incorporates "Freezer Guard technology," which allows it to operate effectively even in ambient temperatures as low as -15°C, preventing frozen food from thawing. The fridge compartment defrosts automatically, with defrost water collected and evaporated. The freezer compartment also defrosts automatically and includes a circulating fan to ensure optimal performance.

Usage Features

  • Temperature Control: Operating temperatures are controlled by a thermostat knob located on the ceiling of the fridge compartment. Settings range from MIN to MAX, with MAX being the coldest. For initial setup, it's recommended to set the thermostat midway and monitor temperatures.
  • Food Storage:
    • Fridge: Suitable for short-term storage of fresh food, dairy products, cooked food, fruits, vegetables, and drinks. Cooked dishes should be in airtight containers. Raw meat should be wrapped in polythene bags and placed on the lowest shelf, consumed within two to three days.
    • Freezer: Suitable for freezing and long-term storage of pre-frozen food. Do not exceed the freezing capacity of 4 kg/24 hours. Small quantities of food (up to 0.5 kg) can be frozen without adjusting the thermostat.
  • Ice Cube Making: Fill the ice-cube tray 3/4 full with water and place it in the Ice Bank. Use a spoon handle to loosen frozen trays.
  • Door Reversal: The appliance doors can be reversed to open from the opposite side, providing flexibility for installation. This process involves several steps, including removing hinges, repositioning plugs, and adjusting the door and hinge components.
  • Adjustable Feet: The two front feet can be adjusted to ensure the appliance is level and stable, reducing vibration and noise.
  • Shelves and Drawers: Cabinet shelves, crisper bins, drawers, flaps, and bottle grippers are all removable for convenience.
  • Freezer Fan: A circulating fan in the freezer compartment is essential for performance. Users must ensure it is not blocked by food or packaging to prevent temperature increases.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • The appliance should be switched off and unplugged before cleaning.
    • Use lukewarm water with a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda for cleaning the interior.
    • Wipe the cabinet dry with a damp cloth.
    • Avoid using sharp instruments, abrasive substances, soap, household cleaner, detergent, or wax polish.
    • Ensure no water enters the temperature control box.
    • Clean the condenser at the back of the appliance annually with a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
    • Regularly check door seals for cleanliness and food particles.
  • Defrosting:
    • Fridge: Automatic defrosting. Defrost water runs to a drain tube at the back. Ensure the drain tube is clear of food particles and the plastic plunger is used if blockage occurs. The drain tube end must be placed in the collecting tray on the compressor.
    • Freezer: Automatic defrosting.
  • Light Bulb Replacement: For replacing the interior light bulb/LED, contact an Authorised Service Agent.
  • Door Tray Removal: To remove a door tray, empty its contents and push it upwards from the base.
  • Freezer Drawer Removal: Pull the drawer as far as possible, tilt it upwards, and then pull it out completely.
  • Food Hygiene: Always wrap food in suitable packaging material to avoid contact with appliance surfaces and prevent contamination. Allow hot food to cool before placing it in the fridge. Avoid defrosting food at room temperature; thaw slowly in the fridge to prevent food juices from dripping onto other food.
  • Power Failure: In case of a power failure, frozen food should remain unaffected for up to 16 hours. If the failure is longer, food should be checked and either consumed immediately or cooked and re-frozen.
