The Belimo EXT-CFU-230-D series of Touch Keypad Thermostats are designed for controlling room temperature in air-conditioning fan coil unit systems or duct pipe channel systems. These thermostats feature a microprocessor and a large LCD display with a white backlight.

Function Description:

The thermostat allows for room temperature setting and offers manual or automatic 3-speed fan changeover. It includes a defrost function for low temperature protection. The EXT-CFU-230-D222 model is suitable for 2-pipe systems, while the EXT-CFU-230-D422 model is designed for 4-pipe systems. The device features a touch keypad for user interaction and includes optional keypad lock and auto-restart functions.

Usage Features:

Display and Touch Keypad:

The LCD displays the current working status (cool, heating, or ventilation), fan speed (low, mid, high, or auto), FCU valve status, room temperature, temperature setpoint, time, and week.

Operation Instructions:

On/Off: Press the power icon to turn on, and press it again to turn off the thermostat and its output.
Setting Temperature: Use the up and down arrow icons to reduce or raise the temperature by 0.5°C per step.
Mode Selection: Press the "M" icon to change the system working mode between cooling, heating, or ventilation.
Fan Speed Selection: Press the fan icon to select Hi, Med, Low, or Auto fan speed. In "Auto" mode, the fan speed changes automatically based on the differential temperature between room temperature and setpoint (e.g., Auto LOW-speed for 1°C difference, Auto MED-speed for 2°C difference, and Auto HI-speed for 3°C difference).
Control Motorised Valve (2-pipe Configuration): If the differential temperature between room temperature and setpoint exceeds 1°C, the FCU valve opens. If room temperature and setpoint are equal, the thermostat closes the FCU valve while the fan continues running.
Control Motorised Valve (4-pipe Configuration):
- Cooling: When room temperature is higher than the setpoint, the cooling valve opens. Otherwise, it closes.
- Heating: When room temperature is lower than the setpoint, the heating valve opens. Otherwise, it closes.
- Cooling valve is always closed when heating, and heating valve is always closed when cooling.
Keypad Lock Function: The keypad automatically locks after 30 seconds of no key operation. To unlock, press the fan icon for 5 seconds.
Low Temperature Protection Function:
- Turn On: If the room temperature drops below 5°C, the thermostat automatically turns on the fan and valve (indicated by a snowflake icon). It stops output when the room temperature rises to 7°C.
- Setting: To turn off this function, press and hold "M" for 3 seconds, then use the up/down arrows to select "OF" (off) or "ON" (on). The factory default setting is "OF".
Offset Adjustment of Temperature Display: To adjust the displayed temperature (±5°C) to match the real temperature, turn off the thermostat. Then, simultaneously press the up and down arrows for 3 seconds. The display will show "XX°C". Use the up/down arrows to adjust the value, which will be automatically confirmed after 6 seconds.
Alarm:
- If the sensor fails, the thermostat closes the fan and valve, displaying "E1" (short circuit) or "E2" (open circuit).
- "HI" is displayed if the temperature is higher than 55°C.
- "LO" is displayed if the temperature is lower than 0°C.

Maintenance Features:

Installation Instructions:

Open the left and right clips with a screwdriver.
Open the front cover and take off the wires.
Connect the wires according to the provided wiring diagram.
Mount the housing to the wall using the two screws included in the packing box.
Close the front cover.

Important Note for Installation:

Ensure that wires are connected according to the wiring diagram. Avoid contact with water, mud, paints, and other substances to prevent damage to the PCB of the thermostat.
