Possible reasons for the gas fire going out are:
l The concentric flue system is not installed according to one of the methods detailed
in Paragraph 3.4
l An incorrect “flue gas restriction plate” is fitted.
l The pilot light extinguishes if fumes are not exhausted or are insufficiently
exhausted.
l The pilot light is either dirty or defective.
l Insufficient gas pressure.
l Thermocouple voltage is too low. This is usually caused by insufficient heating of the
thermocouple by the pilot light.
l Dirty electrical contacts in the thermo-electrical system; for example, the
thermocouple connection.
