Overview

This document provides comprehensive installation and operation instructions for the Bellini 60cm Built-In Electric Oven, models BOT608B and BOT608B-F. It emphasizes safety, proper usage, and maintenance to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Bellini 60cm Built-In Electric Oven is designed for domestic use, offering a range of cooking functions to suit various culinary needs. It features a minute timer, function select knob, and temperature select knob for precise control over the cooking process. A heating indicator light illuminates when the oven is actively heating. The oven is equipped with a 3-layer glass door, which helps to maintain internal temperatures and keep the exterior cooler.

The oven offers several cooking functions:

  • Oven Light: Illuminates the oven cavity, allowing users to monitor food without opening the door. It activates whenever a function other than "0" is selected.
  • Defrost: Circulates ambient air inside the oven to quickly defrost food without altering its protein structure.
  • Conventional Mode: Utilizes both the lower and upper heating elements simultaneously. This traditional cooking method is ideal for roasting joints, baking biscuits, apples, and crisping food, providing excellent results when cooking on a single shelf with temperatures adjustable between 50°C and MAX°C.
  • Fan Forced: Engages both the fan and the circular heating element. This function distributes hot air evenly throughout the oven, making it suitable for cooking multiple types of food (meat, fish) at the same time without flavor transfer. It's also ideal for delicate pastries, with temperatures adjustable between 50°C and MAX°C.
  • Half Grill: Activates a portion of the upper heating elements, designed for grilling small quantities of food.
  • Full Grill: Activates all upper heating elements for rapid grilling of food.
  • Full Grill + Fan Force: Combines the full grill with the fan, circulating heat from the grill element. This function helps distribute heat between 50°C and 200°C and can be used for sterilizing glass jars.
  • Bottom Element with Fan Force: Uses the lower heating element along with the fan to circulate heat, distributing it between 50°C and 200°C. This function is also suitable for sterilizing glass jars.

The oven includes essential accessories such as mounting screws for installation, a baking pan and rack, additional racks, and a tray handle for safe handling of hot items.

Usage Features

Before initial operation, users are instructed to remove all packaging materials, stickers, leaflets, and boxes from the oven door and floor. The oven interior should be wiped clean with warm soapy water and dried with a soft cloth. It is crucial not to close the oven door until it is completely dry. New appliances may emit a smell during first use; therefore, it is recommended to "run in" the oven empty at 180°C for 2-4 hours with the room well ventilated.

To select a cooking function, the function selector knob is turned in any direction to the desired setting, which will also turn on the oven cavity light. The temperature is set by turning the temperature selector knob clockwise. An indicator light above the temperature selector will illuminate, and a thermostat controls the oven's temperature, cycling the heating source on and off to maintain the set temperature. Once cooking is complete, the temperature selector should be turned back in an anti-clockwise direction.

The minute timer knob allows users to set a duration from 1 to 120 minutes. An audible signal will sound when the set time expires, but it's important to note that this timer does not automatically switch off the oven; manual intervention is required by turning the Function Selection Knob to "O".

For optimal cooking results, users are advised to use the oven efficiently by cooking multiple trays of food simultaneously, such as two trays of scones, small cakes, or sausage rolls. Selecting the correct shelf location for the food being cooked is also important. To conserve heat, the oven door should not be opened more than necessary, as the oven retains heat for some time after being turned off.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance and cleaning are crucial for the safe and efficient operation of the Bellini oven. Before any cleaning or maintenance, the appliance must be disconnected from the power supply. Steam cleaners should not be used.

General Cleaning:

  • The oven interior and exterior surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth once cooled down.
  • All accessories, including the oven dish, baking trays, and grill dish inserts, should be washed in hot soapy water or a dishwasher and dried thoroughly.
  • Any food spills should be cleaned immediately.
  • If condensation forms after extended use, it should be dried with a soft cloth.

Stainless Steel Surfaces:

  • Stainless steel can stain, discolour, or become greasy, so regular cleaning is necessary to maintain its appearance and performance.
  • The front frame around the oven can be cleaned with stainless steel cleaners if soiled.
  • Stainless steel should only be cleaned with warm water and a mild detergent.
  • Abrasive cleaners, harsh solvents, or stainless steel cleaners should not be used.
  • Care should be taken when wiping exposed stainless steel edges, as they can be sharp.
  • When cleaning, follow the polish or brushing lines in the steel.

Glass Surfaces:

  • Glass surfaces on doors and control panels are best cleaned immediately after soiling.
  • A damp cloth can help remove baked-on food deposits.
  • Oven cleaners can be used for stubborn marks and stains.
  • Harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers should not be used on the oven door glass to avoid scratching and potential shattering.
  • The glass door should be handled gently.

Oven Interior:

  • The appliance should always be kept clean, ensuring that fats and oils do not accumulate around elements, burners, or fans, as these can catch fire.
  • Wrapping meats in foil or using an oven roasting bag can minimize cleaning.
  • Polyunsaturated fats can leave a varnish-like residue that is difficult to remove.

Oven Light Bulb Replacement:

  • Before replacing the lamp, ensure the appliance is switched off to avoid electric shock.
  • The glass cover attached to the lamp holder should be unscrewed.
  • The old lamp is pulled out and replaced with a new high-temperature lamp (300°C) with specific characteristics: Voltage: AC230V, Wattage: 25W, Socket: G9.
  • The glass cover is then remounted, and the appliance is reconnected to the power supply.

Door Removal and Middle Layer Glass Cleaning:

  • For easier access to the oven chamber for cleaning, the door can be removed. This involves tilting the safety catch part of the hinge upwards, closing the door lightly, and then lifting and pulling it out.
  • To clean between the 3 panes of glass in the door, the door is removed and placed on a protective surface.
  • The two screws on the upper bracket are undone, and the upper bracket and first pane of glass are removed.
  • The four clips are loosened, and the middle pane of glass is carefully slid out.
  • The glass panes and other parts are cleaned with a damp microfiber cloth or sponge and a solution of hot water with washing-up liquid, then wiped dry.
  • Reassembly is the reverse of removal, ensuring the hinge notch is correctly placed and the safety catch is lowered to prevent damage.
