Check that the hose cap is securely snapped into place. Make sure the clean water tank isn't empty and that the dirty water tank hasn't reached its maximum capacity. If the red float door in the tank has closed, turn the machine off to allow it to release, then turn it back on, using slower, more deliberate strokes. Finally, check for any clogs in the front nozzle or the upper body filter and remove any debris.

Also, the brushes only rotate when the machine is reclined using the recline handle. Another possibility is that the circuit breaker on the machine has tripped. In this case, turn the machine off and unplug it, check for any foreign objects caught in the brush roll, remove them, and then plug the machine back in to reset the circuit breaker.
