Why is my Bissell POWERFORCE HELIX TURBO PET 2691 Vacuum Cleaner not picking up dirt?

If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner won't pick up dirt, first, empty the dirt tank. Then, check the filter, remove any debris, and clean it. Ensure the hose is securely snapped into place at both ends and that the dirt tank is correctly seated until it clicks. Inspect the air passageway, hose inlet, and hose for blockages, removing them carefully. If the rotating power brush drive belt is broken, replace it. For a stretched drive belt, check for and remove obstructions, replacing the belt if needed. If the brush roll bristles are worn, replace the brush roll. Lastly, if the brush roll is jammed, remove it, clean debris from the brush and ends, and check the drive belt for damage.
