  If the filter system on your BKI Fryer isn't working, there are several potential causes: * Try pressing the reset button on the end of the pump and the hi-limit reset button under the control panel. * Ensure all connections are tight. * If the filter paper on the screen is clogged with crumbs, change the filter paper. * If the motor hums but doesn't pump, check for a clogged pump. * Ensure the drain valve is completely closed to provide power to the control panel. For other issues like a filter valve not being open, or a worn motor and pump coupling, it's best to contact an authorized BKI service agent.

Why is the shortening heating too slowly in my BKI ALF-F?

  If the shortening in your BKI Fryer is heating too slowly, it could be due to: * Breading build-up on the heating elements, so try cleaning them. For other issues such as low or improper voltage, a bad thermostat or loose wires, weak or failing heating elements, or a bad coil on the contactor, it's best to contact an authorized BKI service agent for corrective action.

  If the computer on your BKI Fryer is hanging, try pressing and holding the Toggle/Clear button while moving the FRY/OFF/FILTER switch from FRY to OFF and back to FRY. This may resolve a computer malfunction.
