DMS - Media Controller Opon
Introducon
The LPB2900 Series switches feature an oponal media controller for controlling Black Box MediaCento products. The controller
features include: MediaCento discovery, matrix switching, and preset switching.
Before You Get Started
The MediaCento System uses IP mulcast addressing between transmiers and receivers. Each transmier obtains its mulcast
address from the manual rotary switch posion.
Important: Makesurethateachtransmier’srotaryswitchissettoadierentposion.Thiswillensurethateachtransmierwill
haveauniquemulcastaddressandthesystemwillfunconproperly.
The rotary switch sengs are 0 through F. If you change the transmier rotary switch posion aer you power on, you should
power o and power on the transmier to reset the IP mulcast address. Then, rediscover the transmiers aer you reset the
rotary switch posions. The LPB2900A-CTRL system can have a maxium of sixteen transmiers.
For example, if the MediaCento has three transmiers, set one transmier to rotary switch seng 0, the next transmiter to rotary
switch seng 1, and the last transmier to rotary switch seng 2.
9-1 Obtaining Your Media Controller License Key
Case 1: You order a MediaCento controller license for a new switch.
Black Box installs the key on the switch and sends you an email with the license key for your receiving records.
Case 2: You order a MediaCento controller license for a elded switch.
1. Contact Black Box to order the license. Tell the customer service representave the serial number of the switch that the key will
be installed on.
2. Black Box lab generates the key and sends you an email with the license key for your receiving records.
3. You install the key on your switch, following the instrucons below.

1. There are two ways to nd the serial number for your LPB2900 Series Switch:
Log into the switch‘s Graphical User Interface (GUI) and nd the switch’s serial number.
or
Log into the switch’s Command-Line Interface (CLI) and nd the switch’s serial number.
