2. Many Blue Ox
®
baseplates are designed to
use existing holes and hardware to mount the
baseplate to the towed vehicle. Even though bolts
are there, do not assume they are adequate for
baseplate mounting. Always use the hardware
supplied in the hardware kit and existing hardware
as specied in the installation instructions.

Step 17: Align and Finger-Tighten Bolts

Align baseplate holes and finger-tighten 8MM bolts with washers.

Step 18: Secure Side Hole Attachment

Insert bolt and nut plate into the side hole for attachment.

Baseplate Installation - Part 2

Step 19: Finalize Bolt Tightening

Secure bottom hole with nut plate and fully tighten all hardware.

Step 22: Drill for Breakaway Switch

Drill hole for breakaway switch, taking care not to drill into the radiator.
