Do you have a question about the Bluetti Split Phase Fusion Box PRO P030A and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The BLUETTI P030A Split Phase Fusion Box PRO is a specialized accessory designed to enhance the capabilities of specific BLUETTI power stations, namely the AC300 and EP500Pro models (100-120V version). Its primary function is to connect two compatible power units, effectively bonding them into a single, larger power system. This process, known as split-phase operation, allows for a significant increase in output power, voltage, and overall capacity.

Function Description:

The P030A Split Phase Fusion Box PRO facilitates the creation of a split-phase power system by linking two BLUETTI EP500Pro units. This configuration doubles the output power, voltage, and capacity, enabling the system to deliver up to 6000W Max at 220-240V with a total capacity of 10240Wh. This expanded capability makes the combined system suitable for powering higher-demand appliances or for extended off-grid use. The device acts as a central hub, managing the power flow and synchronization between the two connected power stations. It features various AC receptacles to accommodate different power needs, including NEMA L14-30, NEMA TT-30, and standard AC outlets. The NEMA L14-30 is designed for 240V applications, while the NEMA TT-30 is the standard for 120V/30A recreational vehicles. Standard AC receptacles are provided for typical 100-120V household appliances. The device also includes LED indicators to confirm successful split-phase system installation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Compatibility: Exclusively designed for BLUETTI AC300 and EP500Pro models (100-120V version).
  • Output Power (Combined): Up to 6000W Max.
  • Output Voltage (Combined): 220-240V.
  • Capacity (Combined): 10240Wh (when used with two EP500Pro units).
  • Receptacles:
    • NEMA L14-30: L-shaped neutral blade, rated up to 30A, for 240V split-phase power.
    • NEMA TT-30: 120V/30A recreational vehicle standard (RV 30).
    • Standard AC Receptacles: For 100-120V areas, similar to household wall outlets.
  • LED Indicators: Two LED lights indicate successful Split Phase System installation when they are continuously ON. If inactive, a connection check is required.

Usage Features:

The P030A offers two primary connection modes: Standard Mode and Power Mode.

Connection 1 (Standard Mode):

  1. Step 1: Connect two EP500Pro/AC300 units using the provided communication cables.
  2. Step 2: Plug the AC Input Cables from the EP500Pro/AC300 units into the P030A's L14-30 receptacle.
  3. Step 3: Configure the power stations:
    • Access the touchscreen interface of one EP500Pro/AC300.
    • Navigate to "Tap Settings" -> "Machine Type".
    • Select "Master" or "Slave" as the default machine type.
    • Tap "Master" on one unit to set it as the controller for both.
    • Select "Slave" on the other unit to be controlled by the Master.
    • Clear any alarm history if a buzzer sounds.

Connection 2 (Power Mode):

This mode is recommended for matching AC input cable requirements in a Split Phase Power System.

  1. The AC input ports of the two machines are connected to L1, N, PE and L2, N, PE.
  2. Ensure the phase of the two machines is correct.
  3. An optional AC Input Cable (L14-30) is designed to match the Split Phase System. One end of this cable connects to a NEMA L14-30 socket, and the other end connects to the AC input interface of both units via an aviation plug.
  4. It is crucial to ensure that the phase of the two machines is correct.
  5. The current capacity of the AC input plug should be ≥30A.

Wrong Connection Warning:

It is strictly forbidden to connect EP500 series units into a Split Phase System when AC Charging is ON. To charge both power stations in a Split Phase System, an optional AC Input Cable must be used. Incorrect connections will damage the internal battery of the power station and void the warranty.

Safety Instructions:

  • The P030A is exclusively for AC300 and EP500Pro (100-120V version); do not connect to other power sources (wall outlet, other power stations, generators, or grid).
  • Keep the P030A away from heat sources and environments with flammable, explosive gas, or smoke.
  • Do not attempt to replace internal/exterior components unless authorized personnel.
  • Avoid operating the P030A in wet conditions; if it gets wet, ensure it's completely dry before use.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and do not obstruct fan openings to prevent permanent damage.
  • Do not insert foreign objects into any ports. The P030A generates potentially lethal AC power; use with caution and keep children away.
  • In case of fire, use only a dry powder fire extinguisher.

Maintenance Features:

While the manual does not explicitly detail maintenance features, the safety instructions imply certain maintenance practices:

  • Ventilation: Regular checks to ensure fan openings are not obstructed are crucial for preventing overheating and potential damage.
  • Dry Conditions: Keeping the unit dry and allowing it to dry completely if exposed to moisture is a key maintenance step to prevent electrical hazards and damage.
  • Authorized Service: Any internal or exterior component replacement should only be performed by authorized personnel, indicating that user-level repairs are not supported or recommended.
  • Connection Checks: If the LED indicators are not active, it prompts the user to check the connections, which is a basic troubleshooting and maintenance step.
