Application Table
The following table should be used only as a recom-
mendation.
The most suitable combination for the work to be per-
formed is best determined by practical trials.
* I: Hard sanding plate
II: Soft sanding plate
III: Extra soft sanding plate
Polishing
For the polishing of weathered paint or buffing out of
scratches (e.g., Acrylic glass), the machine can be
equipped with appropriate tools such as a lamb’s wool
bonnet, polishing felt or sponge (optional accessories).
When polishing with high speed, take care that
the polished surface does not become exces-
sively warm.
For polishing, the vacuuming adapter 4 can be re-
moved to make the machine easier to handle and to
prevent damage to the work piece (see Removing the
Vacuuming Adapter).
Apply polishing agent crosswise or in a circular motion
with a sponge and moderate pressure and then allow
to dry lightly.
Polish the partially dried polishing agent with cross-
wise or circular motions using a lamb’s wool polishing
bonnet.
Cleaning the polishing tools.
Clean the polishing tools regularly to ensure good pol-
ishing results.
It is recommended to wash the polishing tools with a
mild detergent and warm water (do not use paint thin-
ning agents).
■ Before any work on the machine itself, pull the
mains plug.
■ For safe and efficient working, always keep the ma-
chine and the ventilation slots clean.
When the sanding plate is changed (see Changing the
Sanding Plate), check the sealing collar 10 for dam-
age. Have a damaged sealing collar replace by Bosch
customer service.
WARNING
Important instructions for connecting a new 3-
pin plug to the 2-wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to the
following code:
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth ter-
minal of the plug.
Important: If the plug on the cable of this machine
must be replaced, dispose of the old plug to prevent
misuse.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in
manufacture and testing, repair should be carried out
by an authorised customer services agent for Bosch
power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders, always
include the 10-digit order number of the machine.
