  If there is no sound from your Bose Home Theater System, try the following: * Increase the volume. * Check if MUTE is lit on the display and unmute if necessary. * Verify connections for external components. * Ensure the correct remote button for the desired source is pressed. * Connect the FM and AM antennas. * Confirm the audio input cable is firmly seated in the media center Main Speaker jack and the Acoustimass module AUDIO INPUT jack. * Check connections between the cube speakers and the module. * Turn off the media center for 60 seconds, then on again.

  If your Lifestyle® remote is behaving erratically, check the batteries and their polarity (+ and –). If you are using a plasma display TV, make sure the media center power source is as far away from the TV as possible. Also, try moving the remote (or the media center) a few feet to avoid an area of “dead spots,” and ensure the remote control and media center house codes match.

  If there is no sound from your surround speakers, select 5-speaker mode. Also, increase the Surround setting for the source being played, and ensure the video sound source is stereo-encoded or surround-encoded, and the component used (DVD, VCR, DVR, etc.) is stereo.

  If your Lifestyle® remote does not control your TV, DVD, VCR, CBL·SAT, or other external component, make sure correct codes are set and that the front of the display is not obstructed. If you still cannot control your external components successfully, you may need to connect the external IR emitter, included with your system, to the IR EMITTER jack on the rear panel of the media center.

  If the Lifestyle® remote behaves erratically with a plasma display TV turned on, momentarily disconnect the video cable (HDMI, composite, S-video, or component) to see if remote performance improves. If performance improves, the problem may be remedied by obtaining “ferrite chokes” and placing them on the cable to draw away the interference.

How to fix a blinking red light on my Bose Receiver?

  If the Status LED is blinking red on either the SL2 transmitter or receiver of your Bose system, start by disconnecting the unit from the AC power outlet. Ensure there are no obstructions to ventilation and reposition the unit upright, providing clear space around the ventilation openings. If ventilation was blocked, allow the unit to cool for a few minutes before reconnecting it to the power outlet. Check the cable connection between the SL2 receiver and the surround speakers to ensure the connections are secure and the cable wires are not touching each other. If the issue persists, unplug the unit and contact Bose Customer Service.

  If your Bose Receiver is causing interference with a wireless (5.8GHz) phone, try increasing the distance between each SL2 unit and the phone. If your phone has a channel button, press it to select a different channel for phone transmissions.
