Overview

This document is a user manual for a BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator, available in 53 Quart, 42 Quart, and 31 Quart capacities. It serves as a comprehensive guide for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the device, ensuring safe and efficient use across various applications.

Function Description

The BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator is a versatile cooling device designed for use in a multitude of vehicles and settings. It functions as both a freezer and a refrigerator, offering a wide temperature range from -4°F to 50°F (-20°C to +10°C). This flexibility allows users to store a variety of items, from frozen goods to chilled beverages, making it suitable for diverse needs such as camping, tailgating, road trips, outdoor travel, off-roading, and even home use. The device utilizes compressor refrigeration for efficient cooling, capable of rapid temperature changes. It features an intelligent cycle work system that contributes to its energy efficiency, consuming less than 1 kWh per day in ECO mode. The refrigerator is equipped with a 3-level battery protection mode, which monitors the supply voltage and automatically shuts off the unit if the voltage drops below a preset level, thereby preventing excessive battery discharge. This feature is crucial for protecting vehicle batteries, especially during extended use. The device is also designed for low noise operation, maintaining a sound level below 45dB, which ensures a comfortable environment, particularly during overnight use.

Usage Features

The BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator offers several user-friendly features to enhance its functionality and ease of use. Before initial use, it is recommended to unpackage the device, allow it to stand for 24 hours, and then clean both the interior and exterior with a damp cloth. The refrigerator can be placed in various positions depending on the use scenario, such as in a car, truck, RV, camper, van, Jeep, SUV, boat, or at home. It supports dual power input, compatible with 12V/24V DC power for vehicle use and 110-240V AC power for home use via an AC adapter.

The control panel features a digital touch screen for intuitive operation. To turn the refrigerator on or off, users need to hold the power button for 3-5 seconds. The display screen initializes with a beep and a flashing " " icon when powered on. Temperature settings can be adjusted using the "∧" (increase) and "∨" (decrease) touch keys. The settings are automatically saved after 4 seconds of inactivity. Holding the button allows for faster temperature adjustment. The displayed temperature represents the current internal temperature of the compartment. The temperature unit can be switched between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) by simultaneously pressing the "∧" and "∨" buttons for 3-5 seconds; the factory setting is Fahrenheit.

The refrigerator offers two operating modes: MAX and ECO. In working status, pressing the " " button switches between these modes. ECO mode (indicated by a green light) is the Energy Saving Mode, consuming 45 watts. MAX mode (indicated by a white light) is the Fast Cooling Mode, consuming 60 watts, designed for rapid temperature reduction.

A crucial usage feature is the 3-level battery protection system, accessible via a three-level switch at the bottom of the refrigerator. Users can select HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW levels. For optimal protection of a car battery, the HIGH level is recommended. For other battery types, MEDIUM or LOW levels can be set. The factory setting for battery protection is HIGH. The device also includes a power-off memory function, which automatically restores the previous working state (power on/off and working mode) after being powered on again, eliminating the need for re-setting.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is essential for the longevity and optimal performance of the BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator. The manual provides clear instructions for cleaning, storage, and defrosting.

For cleaning, it is imperative to unplug the device first to prevent electric shock. The device should be cleaned with a wet cloth and then dried. It is explicitly stated not to soak the device in water or wash it directly, and abrasive cleaning agents should be avoided as they can cause damage.

When storing the device for an extended period, several steps should be followed:

  1. Turn off the power and remove the plug.
  2. Remove all items stored inside the device.
  3. Wipe off any excess water from the fridge with a soft rag.
  4. Place the device in a cool and dry location.
  5. Leave the lid slightly open to prevent odors from forming inside.

Defrosting is necessary when frost accumulates in the interior or on the evaporator, as this can reduce cooling capacity. To defrost the device:

  1. Switch off the device.
  2. Take out all contents.
  3. Keep the lid open.
  4. Wipe off the defrosted water. A critical warning is provided: never use hard or sharp tools to remove ice or loosen frozen objects, as this can damage the device.

The manual also includes a troubleshooting section for common issues and error problems. If an abnormal situation cannot be resolved through simple fault analysis, customers are advised to contact professional customer service via email. To facilitate resolution, it is recommended to provide specific details in the email, including the order number, usage location, power sources and cords used, selected operating mode (ECO or MAX), set temperature, amount of food inside (empty or full), and any error messages displayed. This detailed information helps customer service diagnose and resolve issues more effectively. The manual also defines error codes displayed on the unit, such as E1 (Input voltage too low), E2 (Fan Problem), E3 (Compressor Start up frequently / Input voltage fault), E4 (Compressor turbine speed too low), E5 (Controller chip overheating), and Er1 (NTC opening or short circuit), along with their respective solutions.

The product comes with a 2-year warranty, which can be extended by an additional year through VIP service registration. This warranty covers manufacturing defects but excludes contrived damage, damage from force majeure, damage from inappropriate use or violation of instructions, and damage or malfunction caused by disassembling. Lifetime technical support is also provided.
