Overview

This document is a user manual for a BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator, available in 30 Quart and 23 Quart models. It provides comprehensive instructions for safe operation, product features, structure, preparation, function, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical information.

The BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator is designed for versatile use across various vehicles and scenarios, including SUVs, trucks, RVs, campers, Jeeps, vans, and boats, as well as for camping, tailgating, road trips, outdoor travel, off-roading, and home use. Its primary function is to provide refrigeration or freezing capabilities, with a temperature range of -4°F to 50°F, allowing it to function as either a freezer or a refrigerator depending on user needs.

One of the key usage features is its energy efficiency, operating in ECO energy-saving mode at less than 45W, consuming significantly less than 1 kWh per day due to its intelligent cycle work. For rapid cooling, the refrigerator offers a Max mode, which, in an empty state, can cool from 77°F to 32°F in 16 minutes and from 77°F to -4°F in 50 minutes. The device also incorporates a 3-level battery protection mode, which automatically shuts off the fridge/freezer if the supply voltage drops below a preset level, preventing full battery discharge. This feature is crucial for protecting the vehicle's battery. Additionally, the refrigerator is designed for low noise operation, maintaining a sound level below 45dB, which ensures a quiet environment, especially beneficial after long drives.

Before initial use, the manual advises unpacking the device and letting it stand for 24 hours. It should then be cleaned inside and out with a damp cloth. Users are instructed to place the refrigerator in a proper position, ensuring adequate ventilation with at least 200mm of space at the back and 100mm on the sides for heat dissipation. The device should remain horizontal during operation, with a tilt angle of less than 5° for long-term use and less than 45° for short-term use. Users must select the appropriate power cord (AC for home use with an adapter or DC for car/power station use) based on their scenario.

The control panel features a digital display showing temperature, battery protection level, and electricity/voltage. It includes touch screen keys for power on/off, unlocking/setting, temperature increase, and temperature decrease. To turn the refrigerator on, users must hold the power button for 3-5 seconds. The display screen initializes with a beep and a flash, then remains blank until the device is started.

Temperature setting is straightforward: pressing the '+' or '-' buttons adjusts the temperature, which is automatically saved after 4 seconds of inactivity. Holding the buttons allows for faster temperature adjustment. The displayed temperature reflects the current internal temperature, which will gradually reach the set temperature. The device offers MAX/ECO mode switching; a single press of the mode button flashes "MAX/ECO," and a subsequent press switches between modes. ECO mode (green light) is for energy saving at 45 watts, while MAX mode (white light) is for fast cooling at 60 watts. The temperature unit can be switched between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) by simultaneously pressing the '+' and '-' buttons for 3-5 seconds (factory setting is °F).

The 3-level battery protection mode (HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW) is adjustable by long-pressing the unlock/set button until "H" flashes, then pressing it repeatedly to cycle through the levels. High level is recommended when connected to a car battery for maximum protection against discharge, while medium and low levels are suitable for other battery types to maximize energy usage. The control panel automatically locks after about 1 minute of inactivity, requiring a long press of the unlock button to make further adjustments. The refrigerator also features a power-off memory function, restoring its previous operating state (on/off and mode) upon restart, eliminating the need for re-setting.

For maintenance, the manual outlines cleaning, storage, and defrosting procedures. Cleaning involves unplugging the device and wiping it with a wet cloth, avoiding soaking or direct washing, and refraining from abrasive cleaning agents. For long-term storage, the device should be turned off, unplugged, emptied, wiped dry, and stored in a cool, dry place with the lid slightly open to prevent odors. Defrosting is necessary when frost builds up, reducing cooling capacity. This involves switching off the device, removing contents, keeping the lid open, and wiping away defrosted water. A critical warning is provided against using hard or sharp tools to remove ice or frozen objects, as this can damage the device.

Troubleshooting guidance is provided for common issues such as the refrigerator not working, insufficient cooling, abnormal noise, and surface condensation. For more complex problems or error codes displayed on the screen (E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, Er1), users are advised to contact customer service, providing details like order number, usage scenario, power sources, power cords, operating mode, set temperature, contents, and any error messages.

The BougeRV Portable Car Refrigerator comes with a 2-year limited warranty, with lifetime technical support. The warranty covers manufacturing defects but excludes contrived damage, damage from force majeure, inappropriate use, or unauthorized disassembly. Customer service contact information (email and phone numbers) is provided. Additionally, users can extend their warranty by an extra year by joining the "BougeRV Car Refrigerator Club" via QR code on Facebook or by registering their warranty on the BougeRV website.
