    • D
      Deanna ForbesJul 26, 2025
If the milk is not foamy after frothing with your Breville Coffee Maker, the steam wand may be blocked. Use the provided Froth Enhancer. Also, ensure that the milk is fresh and cold.

What to do if my Breville Coffee Maker espresso only drips?
    • G
      Gregory StanleyJul 30, 2025
If your Breville Coffee Maker only drips espresso, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the machine is plugged in and the power is switched on, and that the selector control is in the 'Espresso' position. Check that the water tank is filled and correctly placed. If these are fine, the coffee grind might be too fine, or there might be too much coffee in the filter, or the coffee might be tamped too firmly. Try using a slightly coarser grind, lowering the coffee dose, and using a lighter tamp. Also, the filter may be blocked. Use the pin on the cleaning tool to unblock it. If it remains blocked, dissolve a cleaning tablet in hot water and soak the filter and portafilter in the solution for about 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Why is my Breville Duo-Temp 800ESXL espresso running too quickly with no crema?
    • B
      Brian WallaceAug 3, 2025
If the espresso from your Breville Coffee Maker runs out too quickly and lacks crema, the coffee grind may be too coarse, or there might not be enough coffee in the filter, or the coffee might not be tamped firmly enough. Try using a slightly finer grind, increasing the coffee dose, and using a firmer tamp.

How to fix coffee running out around the portafilter on my Breville Coffee Maker?
    • M
      marie82Aug 7, 2025
If coffee runs out around the edge of the portafilter on your Breville Coffee Maker, first ensure the portafilter is completely inserted and rotated until you feel resistance. Also, make sure there are no coffee grounds around the filter rim; clean any excess coffee to ensure a proper seal. If there is too much coffee in the filter or the coffee has been tamped too firmly, lower the dose of coffee and use a lighter tamp.

Why is my Breville Duo-Temp 800ESXL vibrating and making strange noises?
    • R
      robertmartinAug 12, 2025
Your Breville Coffee Maker may vibrate or make thumping noises while preheating, during the pre-brew Triple Prime, while brewing, steaming, dispensing hot water, and auto-purging after steaming. During these processes, water and steam may automatically release into the drip tray, which is normal. Also, ensure the water tank is filled and securely in place, as an empty or loose tank can also cause such noises.

Why is the coffee from my Breville Duo-Temp 800ESXL Coffee Maker too cold?
    • J
      Jennifer Black PhDAug 16, 2025
If the coffee from your Breville Coffee Maker is too cold, ensure the machine is preheated, waiting until the heating light is not flashing or illuminated before extracting espresso. A warm cup helps maintain the coffee’s optimal temperature, so pre-heat your cup by rinsing it with hot water and place it on the cup warming tray. If you are making a cappuccino or latte, ensure the milk is heated until the base of the jug becomes hot to the touch.

Why is there a wet coffee puck after extraction in my Breville Duo-Temp 800ESXL Coffee Maker?
    • Z
      zlewisAug 20, 2025
A wet coffee puck after extraction is normal due to high water pressure in the group head. For a drier coffee puck, leave the portafilter in the group head while texturing milk. Once complete, remove the portafilter and tap out the used coffee puck.
