Why does espresso leak around the portafilter on my Breville Coffee Maker?
    • C
      Christopher MoranAug 20, 2025
If espresso runs out around the edge of the portafilter or the portafilter comes out of the group head during extraction on your Breville Coffee Maker, it could be due to these reasons: * The portafilter isn't inserted correctly: Ensure the portafilter is rotated to the right until the handle is securely locked in place. * Coffee grounds around the filter basket rim: Clean excess coffee from the rim of the filter basket to ensure a proper seal in the group head. * Wet filter basket rim or portafilter lugs: Always ensure the filter basket and portafilter are dried thoroughly before filling with coffee, tamping, and inserting into the group head. * Too much coffee in the filter basket: After tamping, trim the coffee dose using the Razor™ dose trimming tool.

Why is my Breville Dynamic Duo BEP920BSS Coffee Maker not making hot coffee?
    • D
      David PruittAug 22, 2025
If your coffee isn't hot enough when using your Breville Coffee Maker, consider the following: * Cups not pre-heated: Rinse cups under the hot water outlet and place them on the cup warming tray. * Milk not hot enough (if making a cappuccino or latté etc.): Heat milk until the base of the jug becomes hot to the touch. * Extraction temperature is too low: Increase the extraction temperature.

Why is there no steam from my Breville Dynamic Duo BEP920BSS Coffee Maker?
    • Y
      ymossAug 25, 2025
If you're not getting any steam from your Breville Coffee Maker, it could be because the steam wand is blocked. Try using the pin on the end of the provided cleaning tool to clear the blockage. If it remains blocked, remove the tip using the integrated spanner in the cleaning tool and soak it in hot water. Then, screw the tip back onto the steam wand using the integrated spanner.

    • J
      Jeffrey TaylorAug 26, 2025
If water isn't flowing from the group head of your Breville Coffee Maker, it might be due to these reasons: * Machine hasn't reached operating temperature: Allow time for the machine to reach operating temperature. The POWER button will stop flashing when the machine is ready. * Water tank is empty: Fill the tank. * Water tank isn't fully inserted: Push the water tank in fully and lock the latch closed.

Why is my Breville Coffee Maker leaking and sputtering?
    • J
      Joanne BakerAug 27, 2025
If you're experiencing pumps that continue to operate, very wet and spitty steam, or a leaking hot water outlet with your Breville Coffee Maker, it might be due to using highly filtered, de-mineralized, or distilled water, which can affect how the machine functions. It's recommended to use cold, filtered water instead. Avoid water with no or low mineral content, such as de-mineralized or distilled water.

    • B
      Barbara CoxAug 29, 2025
If you're unable to set the Auto Start time on your Breville Coffee Maker, it's likely that the clock hasn't been set or is set with the incorrect time. Check that the clock and Auto Start time have been programmed correctly. When the Auto Start time is programmed, the LCD will display a clock icon.

Why is espresso only dripping from my Breville Dynamic Duo BEP920BSS?
    • J
      James BowersAug 31, 2025
If espresso only drips from the portafilter spouts of your Breville Coffee Maker, and the flow is restricted, it could be due to several reasons: * The coffee is ground too finely: Try using a slightly coarser grind. * Too much coffee in the filter basket: Lower the dose of coffee by tamping, then use the Razor™ dose trimming tool to trim off excess coffee. * Coffee tamped too firmly: Tamp between 30–40lbs or 15–20kg of pressure. * The filter basket may be blocked: Use the fine pin on the provided cleaning tool to clear the outlet hole(s) on the underside of the filter basket. If it continues to be blocked, dissolve a cleaning tablet in hot water and soak filter basket and portafilter in the solution for approx. 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

How to get crema from Breville Dynamic Duo BEP920BSS?
    • D
      davieskimberlySep 4, 2025
If your Breville Coffee Maker isn't producing enough crema, it could be because: * The coffee beans are stale: Use freshly roasted coffee beans with a ‘Roasted On’ date and consume them between 5–20 days after that date. * You're using Single Wall filter baskets with pre-ground coffee: Make sure you use Dual Wall filter baskets with pre-ground coffee.

What to do if Breville Coffee Maker says fill tank but it is full?
    • B
      barreracarlosSep 6, 2025
If your Breville Coffee Maker displays 'FILL TANK' on the LCD screen even though the water tank is full, it's likely that the water tank isn't fully inserted and locked into position. To fix this, push the water tank in fully and lock the latch closed.

Why has the coffee extraction changed on my Breville Dynamic Duo BEP920BSS Coffee Maker?
    • M
      Michael ThomasSep 8, 2025
If the amount of coffee extracted from your Breville Coffee Maker has changed, even though all settings are the same, it could be because as coffee beans age, the extraction rate changes and can affect the shot volume. Adjust the grind size slightly finer. Tamp then use the Razor™ dose trimming tool to trim off excess coffee. Use freshly roasted coffee beans with a ‘Roasted On’ date and consume between 5–20 days after that date.
