Why Briggs & Stratton Snow Blower engine does not start?
- Bbrandon82Aug 10, 2025
There are several reasons why your Briggs & Stratton snow blower engine might not be starting. It could be due to the key being in the OFF position, so ensure it is set to ON. If the engine is cold, the primer button may not have been pressed; try pressing it twice before restarting. Also, check if the fuel shut-off valve (if equipped) is in the CLOSED position and turn it to OPEN. The unit might be out of fuel, so fill the fuel tank. If it is a cold engine, the choke may be turned to OPEN/RUN, so turn the choke to CLOSED/START and set the throttle to FAST. Finally, the engine could be flooded; in that case, move the choke to OPEN/RUN, move the throttle to FAST, and crank until the engine starts.
