3.4 Specic Safety Information
• Water used as intake water for the PURITY C water lter system must be of drinking water
quality. The BRITA water lter system is only suitable for cold water use within the water
intake temperature range stated in Chapter 9.
• If there are ofcial instructions to boil tap water, the lter system must be decommissioned.
When the requirement to boil water comes to an end, the lter cartridge must be replaced
and the connections cleaned.
• It is generally recommended to boil tap water for certain groups of people (e.g. people
with weakened immune systems, babies). This also applies to ltered water.
• Note for people with kidney disease or dialysis patients: During the lter process the
potassium levels may increase slightly. If you suffer from kidney disease and/or have to
stick to a special potassium diet, we recommend you consult your doctor beforehand.
• The water ltrate is classied in Category 2 according to EN 1717.
• BRITA recommends not to decommission the lter system for long periods. If the BRITA
PURITY C lter system is not used for several days, we recommend that the lter system
be ushed with the volume of water indicated in the table below.
