Symptom:
Customer reports a “NO PAPER FED” message when attempting to feed paper from cassette and/or hears a
“popping” noise when attempting to feed paper and the paper does not leave the paper tray.

Possible cause:
The paper (PE) actuator is stuck in the wrong position and or there is damage to the paper feed frame unit.
PE Actuator is in the incorrect position PE Actuator is in the correct position
Recommendation:
Replace the paper feed frame unit.
PAPER FEED FRAME ASSEMBLY – REMOVAL
Remove the consumables:
1. Power off the machine and disconnect the power cord. Remove the paper tray from the machine.
2. Open the front door. Remove the drum/toners, belt unit and the waste toner pack (both located under the
drum unit). Important – place the drum unit on a flat surface and protect the drum unit from excessive
bright light.
Remove the outer covers:
1. Remove the two screws securing the back cover. Remove the back cover.

Paper Feed Frame Assembly Removal

Side Cover and Plate Removal

Remove the left side cover and the side plate.

Frame Unit Disconnection

Disconnect frame unit connectors from the Engine Controller.

Paper Feed Frame Extraction

Remove screws, slide frame unit, and release harness holder.

Belt Cleaner Release Assembly Removal

Push front tab and lift the belt cleaner release assembly.

Paper Feed Frame Assembly Installation

Initial Harness and Frame Placement

Place belt cleaner release harnesses and feed frame unit onto the printer frame.

Cam and Roller Holder Adjustment

Adjust cam and roller holder to engage the lift arm correctly.

Shaft Alignment and Final Placement

Align feed and separation roller shafts, then push frame assembly to the left.

Installation Verification

Check bush holder and verify cam/roller holder behavior for successful repair.
