Skipped stitches can be caused by several factors. First, make sure the needle is correctly installed with the notched part facing forward and fully inserted. Also, try loosening the thread take-up spring tension or shortening the stroke to prevent double hooking. Increasing the work clamp pressure may also help. Finally, the needle and hook timing may need adjustment.
